Have you guys heard about a place where Islamic laws are actually being implemented? For instance, those who steal gets their hands chopped off. Those who commits zina will be brought to justice and the authority will chase off those who doesn't pay zakat. Sounds like a perfect world place innit? But is everyone happy?
No of course not, remember the story about a man, his son and a donkey? No? So one day they were on their way to the market and some guy commented on three situations which are as follows:
1) The son was on the donkey while the father directs the donkey
2) The father was on the donkey while the son directs the donkey
3) Both of them walks side to side together with the monkey, i mean donkey
The first impression gotten by the guy was, "That son of his must be in control, how can he let his son rides the donkey while he walks!" The second comment he made, "dang! not only his a lazy father, but he's also lousy at taking care of his son, look at him! im ma throw up!
Dissatisfied with the first two options, the father and the son decided two both walk on the street and as expected, the guy said, "good for nothing useless mule, if you were mine, you wont ever see the light of day EVER!"
So, what did you guys learn from the above scenario? I bet, if the son and the father rode the donkey, the guy or anyone would still have something to complain about. This isn't normal, in fact, this just how unsatisfied we are at things. We complain about how salty our food is, we complain about how slow the traffic is moving, we whine bout how bad the teenagers are and we start questioning when did tapau start writing in inggris? haha. Sekali sekala bah, jadinyaaa inda bulehh kah?
Anyhow, its true how we are always unhappy with things around us. Too much rain just makes us sick and if it doesn't rain at all, there'll will bush fires everywhere. Lets ask ourselves whats missing? Is it me or the world and everyone is really against me? Or maybe Allah doesn't like me, that's why I'm always having this "karma". I can't do this I can't to that. Whoops I did it again. It goes on like that until death takes us away.
I remember the time when Fatimah, the prophet's daughter, wanted a helper around the house and the prophet replied by saying, "reciting subhanallah 33 times, alhamdulillah 33 times, allahu akbar 33 before you sleep is better than having a helper.." After that, Fatimah r.a stopped complaining.
Islam has its way of handling things and if people only knew the love Allah has for us, then I think everyone would just enjoy what they already have. But its hard coz people just don't know or maybe not care what islam actually's all about. People in this world find ways to satisfy their needs and wants and these things often costs money. With money, I think everyone, including me, will be happy? Right? *buzzz*
Wrong again, with money then I've to give some to the poor and people in the community expect me to give a certain amount of charity and I'll be labeled stingy if I don't. Arghhh, it's so much pressure!! Also, i've to think about where should I invest my millions in and where is the safest place to hide my money so that burglars won't know that I'm a rich man. But then what if I don't have money, then I'll be poor. People won't look at me or even recognize me when I'm in London shopping for friend's wedding. Does people care? Not me not I.
What if I tell you that to be happy, you don't actually need lots of money or even possessions. Not a cent is dispensed. But of course, you need some money to go on with your day to day basics. Not unless you can really convince the guy at the convenience store in exchange for a bottle of milk my good sir, I will now give you the stack of woods. ITS FRESH I TELL YOU! Then you'd go run out of the store coz you know the security cam thats watching your "attitude" will come running in a few minutes. Oo Amm Geeee. Is is all about money?
No no, it is not. This is actually about how we can stop complaining bout stuff. Accept things as it is whether you like it or not but if you have the opportunity to exhange/improve/replace something for the better then by all means, go ahead coz Allah doesn't want us to live in a nutshell and isolate ourselves from the community and not know anything. Islam is a dynamic religion which does not entirely focus on spiritual aspects but everything under the shade of blue, white and black. It's a way of life as we all might have heard and I couldn't agree more on this.
So, the question now is goes onto, If someone's happy, will they stop complaining? Let's analyze this question. Have you ever been really happy in living life so far? Personally for me, I've my ups and downs and I can't be entirely happy but I'm happy maybe in other sense. Generally but not to generalize, its hard for a human being to be happy until they've strenghten his or her bond with Allah. Because Allah owns our very heart and soul and to be really sincerely happy, it needs Allah's guidance.
Yeah easier said than done like for the trillion times. Maybe that's why most people on this earth is unhappy. If we look the scenario in Japan, a friend once said that 100+ people commits suicide daily. Whether it be jumping off rail stations, jumping off skyscrapers, drug overdose and so on. It will be normal of a japanese dude to see a person who suddenly crosses the street without even looking left or right and gets his body split into half. Imagine a country where the majority are atheists.
Its sad isn't. Those people who never actually got the chance to know what islam really is. The only information they can get about islam is via CNN and all those networks manhandled by zionists who doesn't really care about anything but themselves. They potrayed islam as a religion of terror, all we do is kill kill die die. Twisted and futher deteriorated misconception if nothing is done to stop this mind pollution.
Aren't we lucky? With the knowledge that we have, we can just easily filter our what's good and what's bad on tube and what's on the media. Im not even sure when's the right time for me to say "right" and not followed by a predicament. I mean, to see a genuine islam practitioner is tough nowadays coz, not to think -ve of other, we all have our own tiny little agendas. To make things worse, these agendas can't be seen coz it lies in our heart.
I'm telling everybody that you're no good and you're only doing this for the fame and so that everyone knows you and greet you when you're out on at bandar. To come up with physical evidence and to prove that someone is really sincere or not is harder than finding a needle in a haystack. In islam, we are told not to find other's fault and mistakes. We can only hope that they themselves default but this is not right either so let's just pray the best for everyone aight :)
Moving on, if we look at the companions of the prophet and the prophet himself, their minds were set to gear Al Wala Wal Bara that is Love and Hate for Allah's sake. They fought for the sake of Allah. They raised their swords to save those who were mistreated and being under the "protection" of an evil ruler. They hated it if someone's possessions/land is being obtained untruthfully. They just couldn't stand and watch while the weak was treated no better than a swine and monies of the state were only distributed amongst the elite.
Our situation should also be the same. An example would be if we see someone (muslim or not) hugging and kissing in front of us in PUBLIC IN Brunei, we'd stop them for the sake of Allah. We just can't let them continue with their affair coz Brunei is an islamic state and this non-islamic behavior just can't be tolerated. We tell authorities if we saw an illegal "karaoke" restaurant is being operated and so on. Our hate and love of something should only be for the sake of Allah. We complain about alcoholic drinks are being served openly and cigarettes are still be sold to children under 18 years old.
These kinds of complaints are, not only allowed in islam but will be rewarded if managed professionally. Islam aint 'bout cutting throats and stoning people to death. What we want is to E D U C A T E people NOT about the right and wrongs, do's and dont's in islam? Whaaaaaat!? Am I talking in circles now? If I am, have many circles have you seen in this post? Zilch.
Rewind tape dj! Have you guys not learned aythang from the seerah?
13 (corrected) years in Makkah and
10 years in Madinah. What was it about? Was it about covering your head? Was it about fasting (sawm)? Was it about dont drink and don't eat pork? What was it then? I'm sure y'all know and for those who doesn't. That's cool coz insha Allah i'll layout some of the basic foundations of what happened in Makkah.
Before going into deep. We gotta understand how the situation really was in Makkah. It was called the dark ages coz everyone was over their limit per se. Prophet Muhammad saw his people was worshipping stones carved by their own hands. He saw his people praising statues and offering dead animals to their "Gods". They were asking pratically begging for protection, safety, prosperity of their business, praying from these dolls.
Its as if their life, livelihood, family, tribe were dependent on how much they "offer" themselves to those idols. Whoever gave birth to a baby girl has to be buried coz having a baby girl was a disgrace during those times. That's what THEY thought. To cut the story short, life was at its lowest in Makkah while other nations like Rome and Persia couldn't care less of the happenings in Makkah coz they had different interests during that time. Bottom line. They didn't understand/know the concept of islamic monotheism. To worship only one God.
Prophet Muhammad conquest to clear the dark thick air was tough coz the ignorance that existed within the society was a tradition which have been kept and held so dear for so long and the musyrik of Makkah just couldn't allow some guy who claimed to be the messenger of Allah to overule their pratices. After the prophet gathered a few people amongst his family, relatives and friends (some were once die hard enemy of the prophet), they were taught the concept of tauheed or aqeedah. Opposite of what the people in Makkah were doing.
They were asked to worship Allah alone and not to create ally for Him. To ask only from Him and to beg forgiveness only from Him. It was mentioned by one of the scholars of islam, if Sayiddina Omar Al Khattab was asked to STOP drinking alcohol, he wouldn't do so and he will not convert to islam. You may ask why. Because Omar r.a didn't know who Allah was and just so y'all know Omar continued drinking after he converted..
BUT after getting to know His creator better and after familiarizing himself with the charateristics of Allah, and able to stop drinking AFTER THREE (3) STAGES as stated by Imam Ahmad recorded by Abu Hurairah. The first stage was when the prophet migrated to Madinah and he saw people there were drinking and gambling, so these people asked whether its ok to go on with it. Then Allah revealed,
"(They ask you (O Muhammad) about alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: "In them is a great sin, and (some) benefit for men.'') Al-Baqarah: 219. Then, they went on drinking alcohol coz that verse didn't really prohibited it until one day, one of the emigrants led the other companions in maghrib prayer and mixed up some verses. Soon after, Allah revealed a tougher statement:
"(O you who believe! Approach not the Salah (the prayer) when you are in a drunken state until you know (the meaning of) what you utter..."] An-Nisa: 43. This time, they decided not to drink before solah so that they'll be sober when its time to pray. But they were still drinking..Until Allah revealed the verse which prohibits alcohol entirely:
"(O you who believe! Khamr (alcohol), Maysir (gambling), Ansab (Altar stones where sacrifices were offered), and Azlam (arrows used for lotteries to make decisions) are an abomination of Shaytan's handiwork. So avoid that in order that you may be successful.)Shaitân (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allâh and from As-Salât (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?﴿ Al-Maedah :90-91
With regards to Omar Al Khattab process of stopping drinking alcohol (a mouthful i know), when the verse 219 Al Baqarah was recited, he still said "O Allah! Make verdict of khamr clear to us." It was still unclear to him when Surah An Nisa: 43 was recited to him and again said, "O Allah! Make the verdict of Khamr clear to us. Then Surah Al Maedah Verse 91 was revealed and Omar said, "We abstained, we abstained." (Abu Daud, Tirmizi and Nasa'i) with response to Allah's verse, "So, will you not then abstain?".
The thirteen (13) years process of human development in Makkah by prophet Muhammad has proven to be successful when each and everyone of the companions were able to accept the later verses concerning the syairah laws and akhlaq without question (revealed in
Madinah). Just a quick comparison between the Muhajirin and the Ansar. Muhajirin were those people who did hijrah with the prophet to Madinah and Ansar were those people who were originally from Madinah.
So, what's the point here? According to some books of seerah, after the demise of prophet Muhammad, there were muslims who reverted back to their old religion. Some even decided to stop paying zakat and claimed to be the prophet. Why did this happen?
One of the causes mentioned was their unsteady aqeedah. The people who converted later during the stage in Madinah didn’t quite grasp the concept of La Ilaa Ha Illallah. Therefore, they became preys of shaytan who’s always looking every opportunity to sway the son of Adam. However, there was no mention of a muhajirin reverting back to islam. Why not?
As I mentioned earlier, people who knew islam in Makkah had been tarbiyyah (educated) by our beloved prophet Muhammad and each and everyone of them knew very well that Allah alone can help/save them. They were confident in carrying out their duties as slaves of Allah because their actions, movements and words were only for Allah’s sake. Their commitment towards achieving and spreading islam was continued even though the prophet was gone. As in the story of Abu Bakr As Siddiq.
By understanding the concept of tauheed, which the underlying foundation of islam, the sense of Godliness will emerged, not only during the month of ramadhan, but each second of the day. From this belief, a person will do anything to please Allah; voluntarily offers tahajjud, fasts (sawm) during the day, helps the poor and needy and so on. With this strong aqeedah, syariah laws can be implemented. I guess everyone will be happy then?
Once syariah laws is implemented, then good akhlaq can be seen that is acting the way Allah wants us too. Bear in mind guys, the only way we can be happy is living life the way Allah wants coz from there we can progress ahead and maybe create something better than the internet. Its about time a muslim whiz with a strong aqeedah comes up with something cooler than the internet and that person could be YOU!
If we look at the situation now, there are more and more people who are unhappy about how islam is treating them that they decided to turn away from islam. Yes in Brunei too. Some of the reasons are as listed out in this
website. Two top reasons why people are reverting in
Malaysia is due to their weak belief in islam and lack in the knowledge of aqeedah.
So, I’m not sure about you guys but I think we are in dire need of learning our deen all over again especially on the topic of tauheed. Lemme rephrase that, we HAVE to and it is a MUST for everyone to learn what it means to proclaim LA ILAA HA ILLALLAH MUHAMMAD DAR RASULULLAH before things get worse and so that we stop complaining bout stuff!
In conclusion (ahhh its bout time), to make people understand the importance of implementing syariah laws is difficult coz not everyone sees the big picture and the long term effect of its realization. The benefits and the achievements alone can’t be pictured by those who lacks the will to know even though history has shown, the peak of islam, as we all know, shook the four corners of the world and took the world by storm. Until then, complain all you want coz ain’t nothing gonna change unless you step in.
May Allah guide us all. Ameen
Allah knows best
